Polite Notice

The practice will no longer prescribe medication solely for the purpose of delaying a period for holidays or travel.
Period delay medication is available privately from a number of registered online pharmacies and may also be available from some local community pharmacies. Services vary between pharmacies depending on the training and services they provide, so we recommend contacting pharmacies directly to check availability.

We recognise that there may occasionally be specific circumstances where period delay medication may be appropriate for reasons unrelated to holidays or travel. These requests will be considered individually by the clinical team and managed routinely. Following review, prescribing is not guaranteed and will be based on clinical appropriateness.

If you are experiencing problems with your periods, such as unusually heavy or painful bleeding, irregular bleeding or other concerning symptoms, please continue to contact the practice in the usual way.

Thank you for your co-operation.
